apolla: (Queen Maeve)
Have just found the best fucking chords site EVER. It's basically a site by a dude who got fed up with not being able to find tab/chords of old songs and standards and the like.

Basically he's me with webspace and the ability to transcribe. Life is good.

And I've been on a Julie London downloading spree. :D :D :D :D

My journal is called Dazed and Confused because I'm a mad Led Zeppelin Fan and it's very accurate in terms of what is found in the e-pages of this diary.

My subtitle is Sarcastics Anonymous because.... actually, it's not anonymous at all. Hello, my name is Clare and I'm a sarky little bint.......

My friends page is called With a Little Help From My Friends because I'm a mad Beatle fan who appreciates her pallies.

My name isWhistling Clarabella because I like the song Clarabella a lot, especially when done by the Beatles on Beatles at the BBC, where John introduces it by saying "and here's Paul, whistling Clarabella." Ironically, I'm not that great in the whistling stakes.

My username is Apolla because when I joined the HP fandom my Buffy alias of Apollonia (as in the Godfather movies) was already taken at FAP.

Lastly: God love Julie London, but what the FUCK made her think a cover of 'Light My Fire' would actually work? Had she only heard the Jose Feliciano version? Did she not know who the fucking Doors were? I like the Feliciano version, I really do, but this is just one step too far. Unlike Will Young, who was several strides too far, but still too much.

Right. Am off to bed.

ETA: The song 'Two Sleepy People' works best as a duet. I know most of you have no idea what I'm talking about, but just take my word for it. Of course, it works best as a duet where Dean Martin is one of the singers.....

It's my birthday baby!

It's my birthday and I'm sat making sweet (matter of opinion) music on my computer. Fuck me, multitracking my own voice is like a dream I had!

OK, I spent quite a chunk of this evening working out how to use Cakewalk.... and this is the result.

Song to the Siren (Words and music by Tim Buckley. This recording by Clare Worley 25th March 2004. Steal it and I'll hunt you down and break every single bone in both your feet one by excruciating one.)

I know I've posted a bunch of other demo versions of this song before, but this is much more polished and I hope you like it. I'm now going to try to do something else (particularly Dino's 'Somewhere There's A Someone' because bellissima Nancy asked so nicely!)

*

I'd like to thank everyone most sincerely for all their wonderful birthday wishes. You have truly made my day. I wasn't going to make much of a deal about my birthday besides having a little Battenberg cake, but the birthday greetings here on LJ and in Real Life (it does exist) have made me think otherwise. LOVE YOU ALL!
