Master And Commander

I have just seen the trailer for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Aside from having a totally shite title, I have just one thing to say which should sum up the entire caper:

Russell Crowe may be Australian and a Hellraiser of sorts, but he is not and never will be Errol Flynn.

That is all.

OK... I just went on the IMDB and they say that he's New Zealand born and has lived in Australia since he was a young child. Therefore I have no problem comparing him to any other Australian, including my own Tasmanian Devil.

Sorry mate.

Errol

We have a cat named after Russell Crowe... He's probably more like Errol Flynn than the real Crowe could ever be.
ps what film are you talking about?

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is a swashbuckling pirate-esque film. In other words, Rusty Bin is trying to be Errol.

And unless your cat has tried to shag young nubiles and quaff whiskey like mineral water, I doubt it rates on the Flynn-o-meter much.

Russell Crowe ?? Hmmrmph

Russell Crowe gets waaay too much attention, IMO. Yeah he's a good actor, and yeah he's good looking (okay maybe more than just good looking). But that band of his is just a glorified bar band. He's not a particularly good singer OR guitarist (think strummy, like maybe 5 chords) but Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts sold out Stubb's Barbeque in Austin two nights in a row about 2 years ago. And the crowd was 90% women who didn't give a flying f*ck what Russell was singing, they just wanted to throw their knickers at him on stage(literally, I am not making this up). Made me want to hurl.

Five whole chords? George Harrison eat your heart out.
