I considered Colin Farrell (too sub-Flynn). I considered Josh Hartnett (too generic). I considered Hayden Christensen (too blah). i took into account Johnny Depp (cool but just not to my tastes) and the thousands of other wannabe greats. And I came up with this...

If we simply must have a new James Bond (and I'm not convinced we need one) then it should be, in my expert opinion, Number One on this list (although I'm not convinced of the wisdom of that either) or it should be this bloke:
