A few things- since when does a Zep party in LA not include some sort of orgiastic insanity and Bacchanalic meltdown?

Second, I can't help thinking that Percy is being a bit of a curmudgeonly wanker not going to the ceremony. Yes Robert, we know you have issues with your past. Yes, we know you've had a perfectly great solo career since the band finished, but FUCKING HELL! You were in LED ZEPPELIN FOR GOD'S SAKE, SO BE FUCKING PROUD OF IT FOR ONCE!

It's one thing to moan and snipe about Stairway to Heaven being their 'wedding song' but Robert is being a bit of a twat as far as I can see. It is unlikely that taking a couple of days to fly to the Grammys and back would totally screw up his rehearsal time. It is unlikely it would totally screw up the world. If he has reasons beyond petty boyishness and beyond being a grumpy old sod, fine. But come ON Rob, this is not the behaviour of a golden god. It wasn't like the three of you were going to have to perform.

I promise you all now that if I ever get given a lifetime achievement award from the Grammys, I'll turn up to collect it meself.
