Hardback or Paperback?: I'm not generally bothered, but we get a lot of books from the Folio Society, which are high quality hardback bound books in special boxes. My Alexander The Great one came with gold stuff on it. Very cool books.

Highlight or Underline? I don't personally like annotating books, but when I have done it, it's been more like scribbles than anything else.

Lewis or Tolkien? My dislike of Tolkien's style knows no bounds (decent enough story though- liked the film ;)) but I always like CS Lewis as a kid. The boy who starred as Peter in the BBC adaptation of Lion, Witch & The Wardrobe back in the late 80s comes from the same town as me- I've seen him on the bus.

E.B. White or A.A. Milne? AA Milne. My love for Tigger knows no bounds.

T.S. Eliot or e.e. cummings? Neither. Give me William Butler Yeats any day of the week.

Stephen King or Dean Koontz? Meh to the both.

Barnes & Noble or Borders? Ottakars. Did go to the World Trade Center Borders back in 00, though.

Waldenbooks or B. Dalton? ??

Fantasy or Science Fiction? Fantasy, I suppose.

Horror or Suspense? Suspense. Not a big fan of horror.

Bookmark or Dogear? Oh, I never know where bookmarks are. I used to make my own customised ones (ie, I ripped a bit of paper out of a notebook and wrote the name of the book on the paper) for each book, but I don't really bother anymore.

Hemingway or Faulkner? Haven't read much of either, but probably Hemingway, cos he always makes me think of Flynn.

Fitzgerald or Steinbeck? Fitzgerald. I really liked The Great Gatsby.

Homer or Plato? Both.

Geoffrey Chaucer or Edmund Spenser? Spenser did nothing for me at school. Then again, neither did Chaucer. Maybe it's the way I was taught.

Pen or Pencil? Pen.

Looseleaf or Notepad? Notepad. I always loose random bits of paper.

Alphabetize: By Author or By Title? Doesn't that suggest that I order things in the first place? You'd be lucky just to find the rock and roll books in one place in my room, man.

Dustjacket: Whatever, man.

Novella or Epic? Not bothered. The length isn't important, it's the journey

John Grisham or Scott Turow? Never having read either, I don't care.

J.K. Rowling or Lemony Snicket? JKR.

John Irving or John Updike? Haven't read anything by either. I don't read much these days.

Fiction or Non-fiction? If it's a book about Jim Morrison, it's usually a combination of the two. Grr. Both serve their purpose.

Historical Biography or Historical Romance? Biography.

A Few Pages per Sitting or Finish at Least a Chapter? I read so fast I usually finish the entire thing before I know where I am.

Short Story or Creative Non-fiction Essay? Both have their uses.

"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"? Once upon a time. Always once upon a time, in a far-away land...

Buy or Borrow? Buy.

Book Reviews or Word of Mouth? Dunno. I just tend to find things. I certainly paid the Daily Mail's 'review' of the newest Jim Morrison book no heed. That might be more to do with the fact the reviewer took the opportunity to rip the man apart rather than saying anything about the book itself. They're mostly fascist wankers at the Mail anyway.
