Laundry Sucks.

apollaWhen I was in California, Campus Village had a huge 24hr laundry room with about 20 washing machines and 10 dryers. That was only one laundry room in our particular res halls complex.
Here at SQ, we have five washing machines and four dryers for... well, there's two buildings, Russell and Allan Houses, all split up into, well I'll give you a clue: I'm in block forty two and there are that many machines for ALL of us. It's not even 24hr either. If it were, I'd just do what I did in Lancaster and tool on down to the laundry at like, ten to eleven at night, shove my stuff in the machines, run over to Spar to get crisps and stuff before it shut and then sit in the nice warm laundry room.
And lest we forget, although they're 'industrial' machines, these Sunderland ones aren't the size of normal industrial machines like there were in both Irvine and Lancaster. I know every university is different, but this is insane.
Lastly, should I be worried that I get a sharp pain in my chest every time I try to drink something? I say somethign, I mean coke. I'd try to drink somehting else to see if it's just that, but I don't have anything else. Ah well.
ETA: Got stuff in dryer no problem, although I'll still have to go back after class tomorrow to do more. I refuse to take half my stuff back next weekend for my mum to do. It's not fair on her or me.
Also, how come all you Americans get to see bloody Love Actually before the British? It's ridiculous, I tell you. Bollocky film industry.

Date: 2003-11-09 05:56 (UTC)And Nottingham. The driers are okay, but the washing machines are smaller than our one at home, fcol! Five machines for 245 people is most definitely not enough, especially when they're tiny machines so you need to use two to wash all your stuff, not just one. Stupid Uni.

Uhh .. in general, pain = not good, so I'd say yeah, probably.

Although we did get a sneak one day release on Friday.
