Just saw a trailer for Friday's episode of the Midsomer Murders on ITV. Midsomer Murders is one of those detective kind of things with John Nettles (Of Bergerac fame) and basically every week in this village someone dies, leading me to wonder why anyone would ever want to live there.

Anyway, they often have quite famous faces from British acting circles- I think Norman Wisdom was on a few weeks ago. I personally don't watch it- it's one of those things that parents watch. I'm getting to the point, honest. I just saw the trailer and wasn't paying much attention. Timothy West is going to be in it as well as several other well-known Brit actors and....

Orlando Bloom.

Yes, Legolas the Elf is going to turn up in the most murderous village in Britain. I find this so bizarre, simply because most of the chicks watching are over a certain age and probably won't even appreciate it. Now, I'm not a huge fan of Orlando, but still, I feel it strange that he'll be so wasted on them. I think it might just be a huge ploy to steal viewers from Comic Relief on the BBC.

Just found a episode summary on my.yahoo.com: The locals fear their chances of winning the Perfect Village competition have been dashed when a petty thief is stabbed to death with a pitchfork. But things spiral out of control when two of the competition judges are also murdered, leaving DI Tom Barnaby to track down the killer before he strikes again. Not exactly Helm's Deep, is it?

Harry Potter and the Chamber Pot of Azerbaijan is on at 7 and 8.30, thus clashing with Midsomer Murders. I feel for any of you Brit HP/Legolas fans. A tough choice for you, I'm sure.

Anyway... to all of you: head over to Red Nose Day 03- The Big Hair Do. I'm sure that a lot of you are rather bemused by Comic Relief and Red Nose Day as I'm sure it's a peculiarly British thing to do, but it's a fantastic cause that helps people in Britain and abroad. And it's usually one of the funniest nights of the year. There's a Harry Potter section on the site, go to 'What's On' and click Harry Potter. You might win a Ford Anglia!

Is it really true that Oliver Wood has been cut out of PoA the Movie? I'm no Sean Groupie, but surely he's a fairly important character, being the Quidditch captain in a book that hinges several plot points on the game. Am I mad or has Hollywood gone more cuckoo than usual?

Having said that, I've just heard about plans to remake both Harvey and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Can you hear the word CRIME at all? Remake Harvey, are they mad? The mere thought makes me want to sob. And with John Travolta. I think he's a good bloke, v. good in Saturday Night Fever, even in Face/Off. But he is not and never will be comparable to James Stewart. Originality has never been a huge concern in Tinsel Town, but at least they used to pretend it was. These are not the only remakes in the offing, either. I want to cry, I really do.

My mum and dad are off to Boston tomorrow for a week. Leaving my 18 year old brother at home alone. How I wish I didn't have 9000 words to write- I'd be off home guarding my property man. It's not him I don't trust, it's his mates and the way that news spreads around the town's youth when someone's parents are away. Know what I mean? Maybe I'm just paranoid or maybe it's that I've actually met some of my brother's pals. Hopefully my brother's healthy fear of what my mum would do to him if she found her house trashed will keep him in line. Hopefully....
