Not much to say. I've got a story in the beginning stages, original and set during the summer of 1973 in a small Southern California Town and it's inspired by a song called 'Trouble Boys' by Thin Lizzy (although written by someone else, about whom I can find no info)... if you guys want, I can post the start at some point and see what you think.

Now, you did pretty well on the old Opening Lines thing. I'm not surprised what was guessed and what wasn't... but I'm both a pedant and a rock geek, so do excuse me for picking stuff no other human would probably want to know. A few I thought people might get, but never mind.

1. Ring a ring a rosie as the light declines... The Rare Auld Times by The Dubliners. Tearstained Irish 'we were poor and starving but happy' nostalgia at it's most... obvious.
2. I remember when I was a little girl, our house caught on fire. Is That All There Is? by Peggy Lee. Beautiful. Heartbreaking.
3. Is she really going out with him? guessed by [Bad username or unknown identity: . ]
4. When I was back there in seminary school, there was a person there who put forth the proposition that you can petition the Lord with prayer. This was The Soft Parade by the Doors. A true tour-de-force of blistering vocals and terrifying imagery.
5. Well east coast girls are hip, I really dig those styles they wear. guessed by [personal profile] megd
6. These are the blues, nothing but blues. The Birth of the Blues as sung by Frank Sinatra. Sammy Davis Jr does this better.
7. Said she come from Rio, lived on a mountain. Je Suis Un Rock Star by Bill Wyman. Best solo record by a Rolling Stone EVER.
8.You spurn my natural emotions, you make me feel like dirt. Ever Fallen In Love? by one of the few decent punk bands, The Buzzcocks.
9. Been walking forty miles of barbed wire, a cobra snake for a necktie. (there are actually two answers to this that I'll accept.) guessed by [profile] eliand504
10. Love me, love me, love me, love me, say you do. Wild Is The Wind as sung by David Bowie. He's never sung better before or since.
11. There's blood in the streets, it's up to my ankles. Another Doors track, this time Peace Frog from Morrison Hotel. The title Peace Frog has like, no bearing on the actual song.
12. It's a Godawful small affair. Life On Mars by David Bowie.
13. Riding along in my automobile, my baby beside me at the wheel. guessed by [personal profile] annearchy
14. Are you ready Steve? Uh huh. Andy? Yeah. Mick? OK. All right fellas, let's GO! Hee! This was Ballroom Blitz by (the) Sweet. Glam legends. Fuck Bolan.
15. As I walk along I wonder what went wrong with our love a love that was so strong. (not the obvious version, kids) guessed by [personal profile] annearchy
16. I'm going to dance. I'm going to dance. I'm going to dance and have some fun. Groove Is In The Heart by Deee-lite.
17. Ring! Ring! It's seven AM! The Magnificent Seven by the other decent punk band, The Clash.
18. A cigarette that bears a lipstick's traces. These Foolish Things as sung by Frank Sinatra. Billie Holiday sings it better, but her version has piss poor orchestration IMO.
19. The problem is all inside your head, she said to me. 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon.
20. Guess who just got back today? guessed by [personal profile] photosinensis

And that's it for now, I guess. Off to manipulate some fake people on The Sims 2 I think.

By the way, did Doctor Who rock tonight or what?

It rocked immensely. My sister kept sending me texts to say she was scared! she's 25!

She also thinks it was flagging up the death of billie piper. it's the only way to end this particular doctor/ assistant run methinks, after all the emotional investment they've put into it.
