apollaMy fingers are killing me. Seriously, playing mandolin as I have been trying to do for the past few days is way harder on the fingertips than guitar strings and I feel almost like chopping my hand off.
It sounds fucking awful when I play, too... but if I don't do that, I'll never get any better. I just hope that the pain goes away enough to continue some more tomorrow... I've had this idea of getting Londonderry Air down properly so I can go play it for my gran. I'd have to wait for the weather to improve, but I think it would be a nice idea.
What else? I watched The Producers movie-of-the-musical-of-the-movie-about-a-musical which was passable. I haven't seen all of the old one, so it's not like I had that weight on my expectations. Nice to see John Barrowman as an Aryan Nazi... although even now after De-Lovely and Doctor Who and everything else, my first instinct when I see him is: Live and Kicking!
I'm now in the process of trying to watch that one called Brokeback Mountain, which I also rented today. I hear it was quite successful. I don't know if I'll like it, not cos of Teh Gay but cos I have no concentration at the moment, and I'll probably turn off at the first tracking shot of mountains. Ah well, let's see what happens...

Date: 2006-05-18 10:07 (UTC)Eeeh! I want to learn mandolin! My sister has one and I've been playing it when she brings it! Don't they sound gorgeous? I also play a bit of ukelele. (I know, a laughable instrument, but so 20s!).
