Date: 2006-05-13 13:56 (UTC)Yes, Queen Anne was a Stuart, reigned 1702-1714. That's one hundred and five years before Victoria was even born. There's a style named after Queen Anne, it's true to say... but it's not fucking Victorian.
Blenheim Palace, now that's dripping in Queen Anne... not least because the real Anne paid for a lot of it.
Victorian, on the other hand... Well, I'm not even sure why a style from the period 1837-1901 would be known as Victorian in America, given that she wasn't queen there.

Date: 2006-05-13 17:56 (UTC)Like, I think it's art deco that's known as Liberty in Italy, while in Continental Europe what we called 'Celtic' art is 'La Tene' and stuff like that.
It's all nonsense really.. but there's no way Queen Anne and Victorian could be confused or lumped togeher.
