apolla: (Rock and Roll)

Job continues to suck. The people are perfectly nice and very friendly, but the job itself is just... well, I suspect that if I stay to Christmas it will be soul destroying.

The video for 'Real Good Looking Boy' by the Who continues to hit me right in my over-sized aortic pump (Friends reference alert). I can't tell if it's because Roger Daltrey is so fucking cool or if it's because Keith looks so utterly sweet and innocent (two things he rarely was). It's entirely possible that I am, at heart, a fucking wuss.

Saw Laws of Attraction tonight. Very cool, very funny. Me like Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore. I could live without the Raging Irish Stereotypes, but it's nothing the English don't have to deal with in Hollywood pictures too. And anyway, it's directed by Peter Howitt, who as far as I am concerned will forever be the original and best Joey Boswell from Bread (Greetings!) and thus impervious to my annoyance. Me loffed Joey, which made a show about stereotypical Liverpudlians bearable.

As for Ireland, I was going to write in detail about Dublin, but I'll be honest with you: I can't be bothered. Maybe when I finally get off my arse and get pictures developed I'll post. Basically: Fabulous place, great time, something about Philip Lynott. In the news, I saw that Ireland has been calculated to be the Best Country In The World. Personally, I would prefer that people not actually report what I already knew, because the last thing that beautiful place needs is more wankers coming and fucking it all up.

Also: England suck. Wayne Rooney is a twat who needs to realise that being paid shitloads to play football means not pushing Spaniards off the pitch and into the photographers' pit.

More than all of this, I have read an internet rumour (yes I know) that certain people in certain bands may have left that certain band. This is worrying because they haven't updated their website with anything since 1 September, but at the same time, it's only a thing in the guestbook. I just don't want this to happen unless it turns out to be a Good Thing, because they really were good, really could go far IMO and yeah. Whatever./random vagueness.
