Wasn't this the subject of the very first episode of The West Wing? Life imitates art, I suppose. Perhaps the First Shrub is attempting to be more like President Bartlet, one of the best presidents the USA never had.

In the meantime, I hope you will all join me in the following:

*loud, hearty snickers*

ETA, cos it's really really accurate:

Just got done watching Ella Enchanted and may I just ask:

WHY THE FUCK IS CARY ELWES NOW PLAYING PRINCE HUMPERDINCK BY ANY OTHER NAME? It's not fair! He's Westley for the LOVE of GOD!

It wasn't bad- v. ironic post-modern blah blah but entertaining with it. Anne Hathaway is quite charming in her way but the dude playing Prince Char reminded me too much of Sean 'Wooden Plank' Maguire to be really that good. Joanna Lumley, Parminder Nagra were both woefully underused, but Eric Idle was FABULOUS, even if he's started to look really old. It didn't set the world ablaze, but I've seen worse. I've definitely seen worse.

Also, finally managed to haul my arse to the Laing Gallery to check out the Making Faces exhibit, which turned out to be pretty cool. I've never been that close to an Andy Warhol before, even if it was of Joan Collins. There were some v. cool paintings there, but as per usual, I was too tired to pay great heed. I would like, just for one day, not to feel tired, but to feel rested. Anytime soon would be nice. Is this what it means by 'miles to go before I sleep'?
