RotK, NMTB and PotC....
Tuesday, 6 January 2004 05:38Hey there.
At 5pm on Sunday afternoon my father and I went to see The Return of the King with literally tens of people. Three and a half hours later we emerged into the dark night.
This film did not change my life. This film did not grant me any wondrous visions or enlightenment. That said, it was a rollicking good ride. I did think it could stand to lose some of its false endings, but... it was a good film.
However, all of that silly Lord of the Rings nonsense has been entirely overshadowed by a much greater event:
Never Mind the Buzzcocks has returned with a new series. I am thus whole again, knowing that my Mondays are filled with joy and hilarity. Tonight in fact was so unbelievably funny that I honestly nearly threw up. I was in pain and almost had to leave the room. How I love the Buzzcocks, not least when Mark Lamarr beats up Bill Bailey for using the word 'weasel' one too many times. Those of you who do not know the wonders of Buzzcocks are missing out muchly.
That is all.
Actually, that's not all. WHY do people think Harry Potter/Pirates of the Caribbean crossovers make sense? Seriously? At least Buffy and HP share fairly similar mythologies! Fangirls, if you must write shitey self-inserts, choose Will & Jack or Harry & Draco to fight over you, not ALL FOUR!
