Life is a big tambourine and other profundities.
Thursday, 9 October 2003 23:24Hugs to all for the splendiferous reception I received on my return to the land of the connected- I feel loved, baby! Am pretty much caught up on my friends page and can begin to comment and such again.
I finally moved into my new room today after getting the Accommodation Office to call the security/reception people here to give me the damn key. Had mucho help from
emony and I now owe her big, methinks! We're also off to the world famous MetroCentre in Gateshead on Saturday afternoon to watch some little film called Pirates of the Caribbean. Don't think it's done too well so far- nobody I know seems to have heard of it at all.
Anyway, have nice new room with a less good view but much nicer kitchen, nicer room layout (although the internet point is still far too far from my bed. Will buy longer ethernet cable. Don't like this sitting in chairs lark.) Actually met two of my flatmates- a Norwegian dude called Paul who couldn't be more blond haired blue eyed stereotype (Such a thing has a name, but 'aryan' is too evocative of other people for my liking) who seems quite nice and very briefly one of the Greek dudes whose name is something like Georgios, but I really don't remember!
Talking to my parents on the phone earlier, it seems that the communication channels were blocked and they didn't know I was sharing with four blokes. I think it's four blokes, anyway. Whatever. I know I told them, just because She Who Must Be Obeyed only listens to what she wants it is not my problem.
Ronnie O'Sullivan got whitewashed today (ie- he won no frames) by Matthew Stevens which is weird- usually Ronnie does the whitewashing. Perhaps his hairband impaired his playing or perhaps the talk of 'Is he or is he not a Muslim now?' and the stuff surrounding his father's prison term has distracted him. Anyway, it means I can pay slightly less attention to the snooker, especially now that both Ronnie and Jimmy 'People's Champion' White are out.
A question for you all: Do you think I should get a nifty paid account? Do you think it's worth my time, effort and money? What exactly does one receive in return for moolah except for seven extra icons? I have read the stuff on the site, but I'm asking for your user opinions.
Lastly: I don't care what Dan or anyonesays: THE YANKEES RULE ALL! Will attempt to keep up on mlb.com and hope that it doesn't go as badly as the last time I paid proper attention to the results of it all (Yankees lost the WS to the Braves). I think I'm bad luck for my teams, you know. Mind you, Tottenham are shit whether I'm paying attention or not...
EDIT: Forgot to wish both John and Sean Lennon happy birthday! My darling John would be 63 had he not been butchered in the street outside his home and his youngest son is, I think, 28.
