Here's another twist off the playlist meme:

Hey Clare,

24. Three Dog Night. "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do, two can be as bad as one."

51. Joy Division for the original and Fall Out Boy did a cover. "When ambitions are low and resentment rides high"

57. Duran Duran. "Meeting you with a view to a kill. Face to faces, secret places, feel the chill." I'll stop with that and not write the whole song :)

I also know 22 is Franz Ferdinand but I can't remember any lyrics.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!

It's the Joy Division version of course- it's turning up everywhere here on TV/radio/whatever here because it's just turned 25 years since Ian Curtis killed himself.

Pleasant Valley Sunday - The Monkees
Chain Gang - Sam Cooke (the original song?)
Sea Of Love - I know this is old but I can only think of the Honeydrippers' version
Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Air That I Breathe - The Hollies
The Dark Of The Matinee - FRANZ FERDINAND!!!
Inna Gadda Da Vida - Iron Butterfly, DUHHH Inna Gadda Da Vida Baby,
One Is The Loneliest Number - Three Dog Night. One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do/ Two can be as bad as one, but one is the loneliest, the loneliest number one.
Fire -Arthur oh WTF is his last name??! Yoikes
Monster Mash - Boris Karloff
God Only Knows - Beach Boys
Venus - Oh I'm your Venus, I'm on fire at your desire. Ohhhh crap. Who sang this???!?
I Knew The Bride - Rick Springfield (played at every wedding in the USA since then)
Twenty Flight Rock
Some Enchanted Evening - Rodgers & Hammerstein, from South Pacific

You're right about all of them except:

Fire -Arthur oh WTF is his last name??! Yoikes Arthur Brown. My old art teacher used to play organ/keyboard for him.
Monster Mash - Boris Karloff Actually it's Bobby Pickett.
God Only Knows - Beach Boys
Venus - Oh I'm your Venus, I'm on fire at your desire. Ohhhh crap. Who sang this???!? They're called Shocking Blue, and if I recall were from Holland. The singer woman always reminds me of writer/Morrison bride Patricia Kennealy.
I Knew The Bride - Rick Springfield (played at every wedding in the USA since then) You know, it's listed as Status Quo (dl'ed it during a brief Buzzcocks-inspired Quo-fest) and it sounds like them, but now you've said that... I HATE when people mis-label shit. I shall have to look into this..
Some Enchanted Evening - Rodgers & Hammerstein, from South Pacific Dean Martin's version, sadly. Well, not sadly for me, obviously.
Mad About The Boy - written by Noel Coward but I don't know who sang it Lots of people sang it, but I was listening to Julie London.
Itchycoo Park - Manfred Mann Nope, the Small Faces. One of these days I'm getting meself a Steve Marriott haircut...
