On Never Mind The Buzzcocks on Sunday, Mark Lamarr described Bob Dylan thusly:

"The man who man a generation think: a generation thinking 'blow your nose, whiney'. It's Bob 'The tuneless walking scrotum' Dylan."

Now, I love Dylan, but that's quite brilliantly scathing. God love you Lamarr, and so do I!

Tuneless. Dear God, yes. A poet, and a tuneless poet at that.

You know, when he's not actively TRYING to sound like Bob Dylan, he's not a bad singer. He's no Dean Martin, but 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight' and some of his other Nashville-era stuff isn't bad.

It turns out that Woody Guthrie has a lot to answer for.
