Tonight, I got an email from Y!Groups to 'confirm my request to join' a group. The group in question is called 'nlupdates' and appears to be something to do with West Wing fic. Does anyone know why I'd get sent a thing for this, cos I er... don't. I love the West Wing, but I think the only time I read fanfic was when I was avoiding an essay.

I believe if you own, mod or start up a Yahoo group, you can directly add people to your group and I'm betting that's what someone did with you and the email to confirm is just that--for you to accept the group membership.

wow this is strange but I surfed in friend of a friend and couldn't help but notice. I'm a moderator for that list -- it's a update list for the The National Library (http://library.westwingstories.com/index-02.shtml) a West Wing archive. To my knowledge we don't invite people to join, they join if they want too via the website link.

I'm going to look into that for you. This is the first time I've heard about that happening and I'm sorry it happened.

Oh, it's ok, but it was very strange... I mean every now and then I get something like this for HP stuff because people see my name on friendsfriends lists or on other sites... but I can only think of one person I know who's even been involved in WW stuff.
