A health sort of question....

Is it normal for one's temperature to rise several degrees quite suddenly to 'pretty damn hot', remain there for a minute and then drop to 'actually really quite cold' before settling back to 'normal, thanks very much'?

Cos it's been happening on and off for the last few hours and it's getting really fucking annoying and I'm sweating into my Rydell High t-shirt. Not that you actually needed to know that bit.

Um. No. In fact, that's one of the less-common early symptoms of a feverish illness.

I really hope it's just something like a feverish cold. Do you feel stuffed up, or have a sore throat, or anything?

Not really. Should I be, like, worried?

If you don't feel ill in other ways, probably not. Just take care over the next few days.

This would be the next few days in which a 500word review, 1500 word feature, a critical evaluation of the above, two critical analyses, a 4000 word essay and probably some other stuff I haven't done yet are all due in?

*looks sardonically amused*

I shall definitely take care. This of course is said at 8am after not having been to sleep with an exam I haven't revised for in 1hr1/2?

*yawns, sighs*

At any rate, thanks for the info. I'll just have to 'sweat' it out. Great.

Sorry, to jump into the convo here but you might be feeling unwell because of a by-product of stress. There's this hormone, cortisol, the adrenal gland in your brain releases when you're stressed out and it inhibits your immune system causing you to feel unwell. Or you could be manifesting whatever's bothering you into physical symptoms.

Er, I'm a bit of a psych geek...Just ingnore this if it's too weird.

:)

No, it's not weird! In fact, one of my friends said the exact same thing before our exam. I'm just a bit concerned cos I've been like this for a while now.

Thanks!

lol! Great minds think alike!

Anyway, you're welcome! I've been feeling kind of feverish too, though it's kind of on the inside(?), like you're burning up but you're forehead doesn't really feel too hot or anything. Don't know what it is, maybe I just need to sleep more or something.

Hope your exams are going well! And feel better soon!

Sounds like you had a hot flash, mate. Though you're rather young for those... *scratches head*... ah, the joys of being female. I remember hot flashes well -- had them for several years but thankfully, no more :D
