God love Brendan Gleeson. The man is FABULOUS and I adored him in Michael Collins, Gangs of New York and Troy. I even liked him as the nasty pharmaceutical dude in Mission Impossible 2. I've never seen him in anything I don't like.
BUT FRANCES DE LA TOUR?!?!? WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO? She's TERRIBLE. She is the ONLY reason I can't sit through an entire episode of Rising Damp- and bear in mind this is a show with RICHARD BECKINSALE in it. WHY didn't they get a FRENCH bird? Cos despite the name, she AIN'T French. They could've got a French chick who DOESN'T cause people to stab themselves in the eye! Seriously, I'm not alone on this one. Sitting through the new ITV Death on the Nile at Easter with her was bearable only because she wasn't in it much and was meant to be that bone crunchingly irritating. BAD move, WB, BAD MOVE.
