Even then, I can't honestly understand what it's like for a parent or even for someone who's had a horrible time and is dying to meet their real parents in hope that it's better.
Gee, I didn't know I was an "unreal" parent *pokes self to make sure self is real*. Well, the way I figure it, T (Maya's birthmom) had her for 9 months (gestation) and 2 days. Mr. U and I have had (and loved) Maya for 7 years and 2 months. I don't think Maya is confused about who her mom is. T is her birthmother, but I'm her Mom.
