apollaAm back up to Lancaster tomorrow afternoon. If I have time, I'll purchase myself a disposable camera and if we stop at Rugby (I'm sure we will) I'll try and get some pictures of The Pumpkin Cafe, the namesake of Ash, Brian, Dan and my's Y!Group.
Train from Euston is at 14:20. Have to get up at eleven to get to London. Haven't got up that early for some time. Don't like my chances much! Should be packing right now, but as you can see.... I'm not. Instead I'm pissing about reading everyone's varied opinions now that the Phoenician dust has settled a bit more. I do agree that we can hold off the rabid shipping for a while, but to each his own. I'm also trying to burn a CD, but I just can't seem to decide on the tracklisting. I'm such a music geek, I swear. Should, for example, 'Hotel California' by the Eagles come directly before 'Poor Tom' by Led Zeppelin? Should I follow 'Poor Tom' with more Led Zeppelin or should I put 'Why Don't You Do Right' by Julie London in somewhere there? How will hard rock do being followed by cool lounge cabaret like that? Where should Lennon's 'Free As A Bird' Dakota demo go? So far, all I've been able to decide is that the 'Godfather Tarantella' is going at the start and 'Come With Me' by Puff Daddy (feat. Jimmy Page) is going at the end. Am such a music geek.
I intend to re-read OotP on the three hour journey tomorrow, especially because I don't remember much of the last three chapters for reasons I'm sure you all understand.
I also hope to get lots of writing done while I'm back in Lancaster because I won't have a TV unless I go over to Natasha's. Not sure how I'll cope with that, but we wait with baited breath!
I have decided this: Sirius is staying in my HP DDD sequel. I may not have him married off to Narcissa for what are now obvious reasons. Will have to think on that more, especially as I feel it's something of a fanon cliche anyway. Suffice to say that little Richard Potter will have his best friend, even if said best friend doesn't have the same mother as originally intended. Mind you, in HP DDD I made Narcissa Maura's cousin by marriage anyway... Will have to see if I can find someone else for Sirius first.
On University Challenge earlier, there was a question about stars. One of of the stars mentioned was 'Regulus'. This started off a Clare-babble about Regulus Black and how he was the younger brother of Sirius who is dead and who was Harry's godfather and hope of a normal family life once Voldemort is killed and-"
Cue Daddy: "Would you please shut up?" I think he's getting annoyed with my constant "Sirius is dead!" wailings. Never thought I'd take it this hard. I think he finds it most difficult because he has no idea of what I'm talking about!
Have also decided that Dung Fletcher and Tonks will at least make cameo appearances. Have also decided once and for all on Harry's occupation. Have also found a trillion typos and stuff in the version I emailed to Dan. Dan- I'm really not an idiot and have corrected them. I'm no good at typing from handwritten stuff it seems- especially not at the speed I do it.
I got the bright idea of printing out what I have of the HP DDD sequel (currently only known by its working title of Lily and Maeve II). Turned out to be easier said than done- the printer is being a bitch- I'm quite literally having to hand feed each sheet into the printer, which is also easier said than done: page 20 is split over two sheets. Don't know why it's playing up like this. Does anyone else have this- after a certain amount fo time, the printer just doesn't work properly? Thank GOD I didn't have to print out my dissertation at home is all I'm saying. Well, 20 pages down, 40 to go....
Have also been neglecting the Triumvirate game. Will make McG post when I'm back in Lancaster, I promise.
I've got this burning desire to write a MWPP era fic that has its epilogue based somehow in Chapter Thirty Five. Don't know where to start, though.
I'm even boring myself now, so I'll go until I actually have something interesting to say.
