1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Finally got meself on the rocky road to Dublin town, one, two, three, four, five! Seriously, that was the best thing. Oh, and I went to see Jim.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't do resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not anyone close, but John Peel has left a real hole that I didn't expect, man.

5. What countries did you visit?
The Republic of Ireland, France.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
The life I feel like I was born to live.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
6th November, the day I finally stepped on Irish soil with my own two feet.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finishing my poxy MA project within a matter of days. As per usual.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being there for my friends when they needed me, or when something important. happened.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Pretty bad food poisoning just a couple of weeks ago.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My red 1970s polyester dress off eBay, cos it's fucking brilliant.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Viktor Yushenko for remaining courageous and defiant in the face of corruption and fucking poisoning. Those of you who worked to get rid of Bush, even if it didn't work the point is that you tried. My mammy, who fulfilled my lifelong dream of Dublin.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Tony Blair, Donald Rumsfeld, Celine Dion, Jason Donovan. I've got a bloody long list somewhere.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Music and videos sounds like me, doesn't it? I suspect a large amount went to Blockbuster's Sunderland branch.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Dublin. Watching all 20 Bond movies.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand. Anything by FF, acutually. I'm a big fan of This Ffire too. Also, 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God' by the Pogues- the moment I truly realised that Shane MacGowan is more than a drunken Irish with fucked teeth. Mind you, he was on a tv show the other day and looked truly awful. I think he lost more teeth, has gained weight and was pissed. Hopefully the New Year will bring peace to Shane.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? About the same.
ii. thinner or fatter? No idea.
iii. richer or poorer? Much the same, really. Possibly slightly richer, but we're talking seriously small sums of money anyway.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
The things I want to do.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Things I don't want to do.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Naffing about at home with my fam.

21. How will you be spending New Years?
Hopefully doing what I always do- absolutely naff all.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Sort of- this was the year I finally opened up my heart to Philip Lynott after years of just flirting with Thin Lizzy's music. And I'm fucking glad I did. I also could've fallen in love if I'd seen said person more than once.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Friends *weeps*, The OC, Never Mind The Buzzcocks WHICH I SAW LIVE!!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I dislike Jason Donovan much more than I did before, thanks to seeing him in person.

26. What was the best book you read?
Dunno, actually.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Maybe The Black Country Bandits. Franz Ferdinand, or was that last year now?

28. What did you want and get?
A DVD player downstairs. Proper platform shoes. Vintage clothes.

29. What did you want and not get?
The life I want.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Incredibles is the most recent I can think of, although there may have been others.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 22 and... I can't actually remember.

32. what one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Er... spending more time with my pals.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Utterly, utterly unique. Old.

34. What kept you sane?
What?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Dunno. Colin Farrell is v. cool, does that count?

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
At the moment it's the UTTER FUCKING LIES being taught to unsuspecting, innocent American teens. Things like being told that half of America's gay men have HIV or AIDS or that masturbation will cause pregnancy. We're practically back to the days when we were told that having a bath during periods is unclean. FUCK OFF YOU BASTARDS AND STOP LYING TO YOUR CHILDREN.

37. Who did you miss?
Philip. Jim. Errol. John. Ava. Dean. The usual suspects.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I don't know what you mean about 'best', but I'm sure there are people that I simply can't think of.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
I don't know that I've learned anything in particular, except that I quite like 80s electronica if Philip Lynott's singing on it.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

"A hundred thousand changes, everything's the same."

The Living Daylights, A-Ha.

Hey there, dear--I'll get to work on this tonight. What a nice exercise! It is a good thing to take self-inventory, etc.
