Just got back from an evening of fun with the journo class (except
emony who has to be up far too early tomorrow morning to go out. Everyone asked after you, btw!). I left half an hour earlier than the end of the night cos the people I was getting a taxi back with suggested it so we could actually get a taxi. It's just ending right now (2am) and I actually wish I was still there. Never thought I'd say that, but I do usually have a fabulous time with these guys.
Anyway, let's start at the beginning, a very good place to start.
Had a law exam today which didn't count and is self marked (actually it's meant to be marked by someone else in the class but I forgot/couldn't be bothered to swap) so I didn't sweat it too much. Then we had shorthand class. Nobody was even remotely in the mood for it, so when the phrase 'fairy grotto' came up we all cracked up and I suspect a large proportion of us took the meaning less literally than we should. So when 'two santas in the grocery dept' came up we were all gonners. Then the teacher gave us a Crimbo quiz which we had to answer in shorthand. The scores *drumroll please*
3, with 21 points,
emony who not only named the Three Kings but spelled them correctly in Shorthand. She rocks muchly.
2, with 22 points, Simon, who does not rock as much as
emony of course.
*oh, lets have another drum roll...*
1. with twenty five naffing points... ME!!
apolla. I suspect that had she not asked the original movie in which the song White Christmas came up and fewer about It's A Wonderful Life I may have not done so well. Also managed to get four of the 12 reindeers thanks to Dean Martin. I got given some Santy chocolates which, being the swell chick I am, shared with the class.
After that we went to Manor Quay for a drink with our shorthand teacher. Then it was back home to get ready to go to a nearby italian restaurant for the birthday of a girl in our class. Food wasn't great, but my class is much fun. Then back to Manor Quay for dancing and such merriment, where I remained until 1.30am. AND AND AND they played I Believe In A Thing Called Love by the Darkness! *much dancing* There was too much trancey dance music for my tastes, but I did get some Darkness! It is a shame I didn't stay to the end. Am stupid fool.
That said, I do have a train to get at 1.30pm on Saturday/today, so it's probably just as well.
IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!
