Hey hey mama, what's the matter here?
Friday, 27 June 2003 01:29Am sooooooooo beyond bored. Need my telly. Don't have my telly. I ended up renting DVDs today although there wasn't anything good available that I haven't seen. So I have now seen A Knight's Tale with the commentary by Brian Helgeland (director) and Paul Bettany (Geoff Chaucer). The latter is highly amusing, the former is not and many of the funniest lines are actually courtesy of Bettany and a writer friend of his. Say what you like about the film, I still love the 'Golden Years' scene and Heath Ledger is terribly cute. I am now watching xXx with the commentary on because I really have nothing else to do. The director is better than the other director dude, but not by much. I guess directors are better doing than explaining. Is nice to see Prague again. One day I will go back there and make better memories than those I have from my school trip. Memories that don't involve me sitting alone or sitting with a bunch of drunken idiots. And I still looove the Charles Bridge. Love that it's a big part of the movie.
Anyway, finally got around to posting at
triumvirate which is getting v.v. interesting.
Oh! I caved in and bought the Almost Famous DVD with the untitled director's cut. The reason this is remotely interesting (and I use that word loosely) is because I already own it on Region One courtesy of a year in California. I still don't have a multi-region DVD player because I am indeed a poor student but I'm a poor student with an absolute weakness for movies and for rock and roll and thus a weakness for movies about rock and roll (especially ones that feature Led Zep songs) so I had no problem giving HMV twenty two pounds of my money for something that, technically, I already owned. On a related note, I think I may be in love with Russell Hammond. Yes, that's Russell Hammond, a character in a film. Either that or I want to be someone just like him. Either that or he reminds me of so many of my real life heroes. I think it's that last one actually.
How's this for idiot university bureaucrazy, sorry bureaucracy: I find out how I did in my dissertation this coming thursday. The day after I get my degree results as a whole. Surely it would make more sense the other way around?
I will say one thing for DVD commentaries- they do make me feel very much as if making movies is my destiny. The fact that I'm about to leave university with no experience and no way of getting into it doesn't stop my crazy imagination.
You know, I've just realised that I have nothing of note to tell any of you, except that thanks to
gryffinseye I have a second beta,
windtear which is v. cool. I suppose it means I have to try and write some more...
I fell asleep earlier and had the weirdest dream. I think Robert Plant made a cameo at one point, but the Weird Factor came in the Draco/Ginny build up I was watching. It's really, really bizarre and officially, as far as I remember, my first HP dream. I just don't get it- I don't especially care about D/G although as far as a garnish to H/Hr I like it well enough. Feisty!Gin of OotP would go well with a Redeemed!Draco I think, although that's looking less likely to my mind. I just don't get why they would invade my dreamscape.
And because I'm bored and rambling, I will stop. Until next time, ma belle amis!
