Good day today.

My ever-cool daddy took me, my little bro Mikey and his girlfriend Vicki to the London Eye. That's the giant Ferris Wheel they have on the South bank of the Thames near Waterloo Station. The weather was sunny and clear, so we had fantastic views across London from our capsule. Could see the Barbican from there- right near my grandad's. Also near there is St. Paul's which, even compared to the big towers and stuff London has now, stands out. Can see why it was such a focal point during the war. Also Buck House, Nelson's Column, the Houses of Parliament, all your typical tourist stuff.

Then we bade farewell to Mike and Vicki, who had better things to do than traipse around with me and my dad. We walked past the houses of Parliament (Westminster Palace is its correct name). I got to see the big statue of Queen Boudicea, which is very cool. We then walked all the way to Covent Garden via Downing Street, Great Scotland Yard (was a fire there), Trafalgar Sq and some vintage shops.

Was v. cool and have finally finished my film. Should have pics of Platform 9 3/4 for you very soon!

Also, I owe Sir J. Paul McCartney a big, big apology. I've been neglecting him recently and mocking him. No more. I will never mock Paulie again except for the following reasons:

1. His hair. Paul, you have 700 million quid, don't tell me you can't afford an appointment with Nicky Clarke or Charles Worthington.
2. His incessant need to seem cool. You already are Paul. Trying too hard makes you look foolish.
3. His wife. I'm sorry, I'm not buying any of it.

Why the sudden Pro-Paul outburst, I hear you all cry with bemusement. Well recently I've been allowing people to slag him off or mock him merciless and laughing along. No, no, no. He is not John or George and it may be the worst thing to happen to Paul is his relatively long life. But he is Paul McCartney, one of the very greatest melody writers, one of the very greatest songwriters in the History of the World.

You may all deify Lennon if you like, and I'll join in, but it won't be at the expense of Paul. Were it not for McCartney, Lennon would never have got out of Liverpool. Were it not for Lennon, McCartney would have descended into horrific slushy love songs and the Frog Chorus. Actually, I love the Frog Chorus....

He's also ageing better and more gracefully than Sir Mick. After seeing him on tour earlier on a show on the BBC, I find myself greatly regretting not being able to get tickets for his England shows. In short: Paul McCartney is fantastic and I love him as I always have. I may not have publicised my adoration for him as I have done for Morrison or Lennon or Errol *not him again* Flynn, but I do.

One last thing: Paul, you don't need to try and be cool- you already are. Just show up being Paul and you'll have people worship the ground you walk on. You don't need to be John or George. Just be Paul and we'll love you.
