Duly borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] ali_granger who has surely gotta be the coolest mum ever. My mum never played me no Beatles. *wails*

1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it?

Suzi Quatro (yeah, the Can the Can chick who was in Happy Days, what of it?) at that infamous rock den, yes that's right... The Princess Theatre, Hunstanton! *snickers* My mum bought me, my grand and great aunt Tishy tickets to see her when me and granny went to visit Auntie Tishy. I loved it,although had to sit on the top of the chair to see anything. Must've been around 8 or 9 at the time.

2. What was the most recent concert you attended? Where and when?

The Doors for the 21st Century *snerk* at Wembley Arena,15th December 2003.

3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed?

Unfortunately, it would take a miracle of Jesus- or Kenny-esque proportions to allow me to see the bands I really want to. Plus I am kinda lazy about these things. I mean, I've turned down the opportunity to see Eric Clapton (a long time ago and it was more about having to go with my mum and brother Michael).

4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em!

I was pleasantly thrilled about Bob Dylan last November because I was terrified we'd catch him on a bad night. Fortunately he was having a great night, albeit permanently attached to the keyboard.

Had mixed feelings, as you can imagine, about the Doors For the 21st Century. While I was beside myself with glee and fabulousness at hearing the Light My Fire intro done live by Ray Manzarek himself, I hated having to put up with Ian Astbury joining in a moment later. I did hear Peace Frog (my ultimate favourite Doors song, if not their best) live which was fucking fantastic, and I got to hear Robby Krieger do his Spanish Caravan flamenco thing. Unfortunately, Ian Astbury was there, doing a fucking awful impression of a bloke called James. More than that, the moronic fans really pissed me off, cheering and whooping every time IA did something vaguely Jimlike. I didn't pay 30 quid for a ticket to a tribute band, but that's what I got part of the time. But still: Ray and Robby.

5. Name five bands that would headline your own personal festival. (Along the lines of Oz Fest or Lollapalooza)

*cracks knuckles, warms up muscles, drinks Lucozade Sport*

Obviously, time frames, death and rock egos notwithstanding, this would be Worlstock:

Day One

The Dubliners (Ronnie Drew era).
Chuck Berry (1950s)
The Who (Post Tommy, Pre Total Fuck Up Moon).
The Jimi Hendrix Experience (1967)
The Doors (1967)

Day Two

Chas N Dave (The Original Dave years)
Sammy Davis, Jr and Frank Sinatra (1960)
The Beatles (1962)
Queen (1977)
Thin Lizzy (1979 Black Rose/Gary Moore years)(Lizzy played warmup for Queen once, time to return the favour)

Day Three

The Glenn Miller Orchestra (c. 1940)
The Darkness (2003)
Franz Ferdinand (2004)
Queen (Live Aid/1986 era)
The Rolling Stones (early 70s heyday)
Led Zeppelin (1975)

Day Four

The Kinks (1966)
The Small Faces (1967/8)
Tim Buckley (60s/70s cusp)
Eric Clapton (Derek & the Dominoes era)
George Harrison (1971)
The Who (Tommy the movie era)

Day Five

Dean Martin (1958)
Jeff Buckley (1994)
The Doors (1970)
Thin Lizzy (1976 Jailbreak era, Robbo/Scott on guitars)
John Lennon (1971)

Day Six

Harry Connick, Jr.
Dean Martin (1949, but without fucking Jerry)
Led Zeppelin (early 1977)
The Beatles (1968)

Day Seven

On day seven, God rested, and after six days like that, so will I.

Damn! Where do I get tickets for that rock festival? I mean...wow!

Yes, I realise the impossibility of such a festival, but still! And you'd better have better facilities than Woodstock.
