A request

Essay handed in. Short and shite but handed in.

Anyway, I have a request that's related to the post I made yesterday about what I was doing instead of my essay.

Is there anyone out there who'd like to take a bash at betareading/just looking over an original, kinda complicated story? You'd need to be able to grasp the many strands of the story and the family tree within it. You'd also need to be able to tell me what's shite and what works without being scared of the Wrath of Clare. Really, I'm not as scary as I seem. Well I am sometimes, but that's neither here nor there. I'm not asking for SPaG picking for all hundred pages I already have, unless you'd enjoy finding all my typos, etc. Just more general betareading, some ideas as to where I might be going wrong and the like. People who would also be cool about chatting on Y!M about it- I've found that particular tool priceless for my HP stuff.

Oh, just so you know, it's kind of an action/adventure/romance/history story based in an entirely fictional region of the world that isn't really in any particular time frame.

So... anyone? At all? Bueller?

Also, I know I said this earlier, but MOJO Radio really does rock my little black socks off. Go to MOJO Online and scroll to the bottom for the link if you're interested. 'Young Americans' by The Bowie just started.

Clare,

Would be more than happy to look at your original piece. It sounds so interesting and I love all of the above genres that you were ticking off. Don't know how good I will be at giving feedback like "this isn't working" but will give it my best. :D

I wouldn't mind giving your story a read, except I'm leaving for a week in Florida on Saturday. Is there any deadline for this?

There's not a deadline, but it's big and long and involved. Still want?

Excellent. Warn you though- there's the story (97 pages so far) and a bunch of information to help you keep track of the story!

Hmm...give both ljc14 at duke.edu and yaddle13 at msn.com a try...I'm not sure of my quota size on either, but at least one of them should be able to handle it.
