OK... so Tesco was selling Roman Holiday for less than four quid on video. So I decided, even though I'd spent almost as much just getting into Newcastle to buy mortadella, to buy it.

It's one of those movies I've always known about, always believed was good but never got round to seeing it. I mean, I'm not really a huge Audrey fan (I worked it out today- it's the way she overpronounces some stuff. Don't say I'm not overpicky) and though I have huge respec' for Gregory Peck and have seen him in other great things and he was a big pal of Ava Gardner's, it's never been a burning desire of mine to see it. Plus it never comes up on TCM or the other movie channels we have at home, which makes access harder.

Anyway, it was really good. I'm not a fan of the ending, but that was the only way it could end, bah bloody humbug. It was very sweet and all, and Rome was as beautiful as those I know who have been there say it is.

But Friends is still over. The world sucks

I love Roman Holiday but even though it's a good movie, I mostly like to sleep to it. It became sort of a joke around here and whenever my mother sees it on a cable channel, she calls to see if I'm napping.

*laughs*

I used to have that problem with Cool Hand Luke- for the first 10 or 15 times I tried to watch, I ended up falling asleep (partly cos I'm always in bed when I watch stuff).
